Joe thrived for connection and stability and discovered that he could find it living at WI Veterans Village. Joe served in the U.S. Army and experienced the loss of connection after being discharged and was unsure how to connect to veteran groups; something he didn’t understand would affect him years later
TERRANCE’S STORY

Cherie’s story
“I was homeless for 10 months before coming to live at the Veterans Village. Working with a fellow veteran to pair me with veteran-specific services was comforting because I felt like I wasn’t the only one out there.”
Cherie, a U.S. Navy veteran, knows first-hand what a struggle it can be to find affordable housing. Living among fellow veterans at WisVVA not only gives her stability but a community to lean on.

Jim’s story
“Wisconsin Veterans Village gave me the first real home I’ve had in years and it’s helping me learn to help myself. They give people like me hope that we still have an opportunity to win.”
Jim is just one of the 33 veterans currently living and receiving services at WisVVA. Before coming here, Jim, a U.S. Navy veteran, bounced between veterans’ homes and homeless shelters.
